I sat down with former FBI agent Michael de la Peña to discuss the investigation into the 9/11 hijackers in Boston. During the 9/11 response, Michael and his partner were involved in reconstructing the hijackers’ movements in Boston and were the first to identify the hotel where Mohammed Atta and other members of the team had stayed.
We talked about how the investigation began, including the leads that came through the FBI hotline from people who recognized the hijackers, as well as the many interviews investigators conducted with people who had interacted with them.
